Kelli; I can't help you with your immediate request, but you've got me curious. The McCullough family is huge. If you've done any research you know this. My grandmother was a McCullough and came from Kansas, but part of her line was in Illinois at one time. Your dad is just 4 years younger than me and may be a second or third cousin. Do you know who his dad was? If you get any further information on him, please let me know. I'm still trying to find out where the family immigrated from; haven't been able to go back any further than 1680 where they were in N.C.
Robin

I am related to the McCullough family through my great grandmother Annie McCullough. She was the sister of Michael and married Daniel Forrest making us 2nd cousins, twice removed (if I got this right).

I have experienced the same problem as you. I have found three different spellings of this name. This is something that happens often. Census takers, especially when working with immigrants with strong accents, often with with what they heard and thus several different spellings of they name can be found in those records. Family records can also be confusing as I have found father and son with different spellings of their name.

I'm not sure how much I have that will be new for you. But if you want to continue to explore this family together please respond.

I am going to try this again.
As a new member, I was very lucky in this grouping. A member sent to me a picture of the twelve member McCullough family, Thomas McCullough, Mary McCullough, and the children. That was a gift. Thanks to several members, I tracked the census , burial ground, churches, Bucks County historical, newspapers,

Thomas McCullough is also my great grandfather!Elizabeth F. was one of his 12 children; her children included my father (John A. O'Brien). The name "McCullough" has been used as a middle name in this generation.

A studio picture of his father-in-law, Michael Hollern [Elizabeth's grandfather, my great-great grandfather] was given to me by an uncle.I didn't have the spelling of his surname correct and probably still don't-It is "Holloran" on the back of the picture, Hallern and Hollern on other records. Does anyone know about this man? B. 1813, picture taken 1882, he was over 50, white bearded.

Thank you in advance.

Patricia O'Brien Libutti
Thomas McCullough is also my great grandfather!Elizabeth F. was one of his 12 children; her children included my father (John A. O'Brien). The name "McCullough" has been used as a middle name in this generation.

A picture of his father-in-law, Michael Hollern [Elizabeth's grandfather, my great-great grandfather] was given to me by an uncle.I didn't have the spelling of his surname correct until I saw D. Forrest's excellent site.
The information I am looking for concerns Michael Hollern, emigration facts.

All my info has been gathered thru Ancestry and people who are linked with the family. I feel very confident about the accuracy as it has my grandmothers family all listed and it all seems correct. John Jrs. father, John Sr, was born in 1755 in Washington (county?) Pa.
Hope this helps.
Robin

Hello,

I have some information about Jasper but am curious to know as well what kind of information you have. A colleague of mine, Judy Milan, has posted quite a bit of information about Jasper and his large family, including Mettie, and she has posted exact dates of birth and death for Jasper. Do you have that information as well from a family source?

I have Jasper as the son of Joseph McCullough and Rebecca Hale. Bother are from Tennessee. Jasper was born there too. I haven't found anything additional on who either's parents might be.

I have some info re: when they moved to Missouri and where they moved around to, but most of this comes from a book called "History of Vernon County" which was published in 1887.

I have a marriage record for Jasper to Delila McKinney in Cole County in Jan. 1855.

I have names of all his children per Census info.

Anyway, curious to know if you have sources for actual dates of birth and death for Jasper and his wife. Thanks.

Bill Allred
Marietta, GA
