Hardell McCullum
Hardell McCullum, 82,
236 E. 24th St., passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Saint Vincent Health Center.
He was born March 11, 1926, in Moss, Miss,
son of the late Earl McCullum and Hattie Clayton McCullum. He was a resident of Erie for 55 years.
He had been employed as a Machine Operator
and Group Leader by the former Inland Container Company. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Hardell was a member of First Good Samaritan A.M.E. Zion Church where he was on the Trustee Board and was a member of the Usher Board and the Van Ministry.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
and watching sports on television, especially the Cleveland teams.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren
and all the neighborhood children.
He will be dearly missed by all.
Besides his parents,
he was preceded in death by four brothers, W.M. McCullum, Wallace McCullum,
Henry V. McCullum,
and Grover Lee McCullum.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, Lucille James McCullum, Erie;
four sons, Burnis Myers, Joliet, Ill.,
Hardy Lee McCullum, Erie,
William McCullum, Cleveland, Ohio,
and Lum Anthony “Tony” McCullum and wife Addriene, Erie;
a daughter, Hattie Morrison
and husband Troy,Morrison of Erie;
two brothers, Oliver McCullum and wife Carrie, Detroit, Mich.; Weem McCullum and wife Emily, Joliet, Ill.;
a sister, Hilma Pierce, Laurel, Miss.;
a daughter-in-law, JoAnn McCullum, Dunkirk, N.Y.;
nine grandchildren;
three great grandchildren;
ten god children;
and many nieces, nephews,
cousins, relatives
and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m.,
at First Good Samaritan A.M.E. Zion Church, 3209 Pennsylvania Ave., and may attend a funeral service at the church on Thursday, 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Fletcher L. Hudson, Sr. Interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Funeralization by Law Funeral Home, 1861 Buffalo Road.
