The McDuffie DNA Surname Project in well underway and revealing interesting results! This is a humble invitation for any McDuffie/ee,ey, McDuff, McPhee/ie, McFee/ie, or any of the associated surnames, to provide a sample. Please go to www.mcduffiedna.com to see DNA results and interesting links.

Our family research hit the “brick wall” in the 1700’s, so we decided to go the DNA route and provide a sample, in the hope of finding some family connection or, at the very least, find out if we were of Celtic or Norse descent. And, with today’s DNA technology, we did find a distant cousin and the answer to that age-old question. In the meantime, we started to read Scottish history - and what a history it is! I think that anyone who carries a Scottish surname can be very proud of their ancestors and in their struggles and victories. Incidentally, are there any descendants of John and Martha McDuffee, of New Hampshire fame, who would consider becoming part of this great DNA effort?

When the Scots started to dream about freedom, and the Ulster-Scots forged ahead in the New World in pursuit of that dream; today, it is we the American-Scots, who live the dream of freedom! I raise my glass to our, and all, Scottish ancestors who transported us to “the home of the brave and land of the free”. We thank you so much!
