I am the great great grandaughter of Daniel Cornelius McEachin, but not through Harriet Dyal, but his second wife, Mary Etta Dyal. This gets very confusing, and I am plugging this into Family Tree Maker and my family relationships are confusing that program. Mary Etta Dyal is my maternal great great grandmother, and Harriet Dyal, on the maternal-paternal side of the family is my great great great grandmother. On my maternal side, my great grandparent's were a George Washington Dyal and an Emma Florence McEachin. Emma Florence's McEachin's parents were Daniel Cornelius McEachin and Mary Etta Dyal. Emma Florence McEachin's husband was George Washington Dyal. His father was James Nathaniel Dyal(called Samp), who married a Martha Westberry-James Nathaniel Dyal's mother was Harriet Dyal, who had him with a slave named Robert Williamson. There is a lot more family history, but Nathaniel James took his mother's name of Dyal because of what it was back then. Harriet Dyal then maried a James Wiley, he was killed in the Creek Indian Wars. She then married Daniel Cornelius McEachin, had children, became ill with stomach cancer, and Mary Etta Dyal, a daughter of a cousin came to live with them to help out, and married Daniel Cornelius McEachin several months after Harriet died. I have the Dyal family back to the 1500's and the McEachin's back to just the 1700's-working on that. John McEachin was from Kintyre, Argyllshire, Scotland. I have a "tintype" photograph of Daniel Cornelius McEachin and Mary Etta Dyal.
