I read the name John Mcelroy on a "private" Warner "family history" on Ancestry. His dates were 1798-1844, U.S. This may be a link to the Mcelroy family that I have been trying to sort out. Does anyone else have anyone in their tree that might reference this man? I believe that he died in Alleghaney Co., PA, leaving 2 young sons that were placed with other families, perhaps as farm hands. The boys were named Thomas and Matthew. Matthew grew up with a family named Gwinn.I believe that John's wife was named Mary J. Shearer, and that she preceded him in death.
