Surnames: McEvoy, Phelan, Fitzgerald, McDougall, Miller
Looking for information regarding James J. McEvoy, circa 1830 and wife, Mary Phelan, circa 1831. They show in the 1861 Canadian census in Grattan Township, Refrew County. They moved to Tawas City, MI and show on the 1870 census. They had the following children: John, Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary Ann and Julia A. Mary does not show in the Michigan census...not sure if she died or stayed behind in Canada. Anything sound familiar to anyone? The family had ties in Tawas City, Ludington, Saginaw and Bay City, MI, as well as Nipissing (Marion Center), Ontario that I have found so far.
