Unfortunately I don't think there is a connection, definitely not a direct connection anyway. I have since found that my Elizabeth Murchie was defintely born 10 March 1869 in Maybole, Ayrshire to Charles Murchie & Lillias Ramsay.
James McFadzean in fact only fathered one of Elizabeth's daughters (her eldest daughter Agnes) and they never married.
