I believe my Great Great Grandmother is some how connected to the following McFarland's but I have been unable to discover the connection. Her name was Mary McFarland and she married a John McCutcheon. If anyone has any knowledge of these McFarland's and where my GGM might fit in I would appreciate hearing from you.... she may have been a sister of James or David??? Samuel McFarland listed below emigrated to Canada in 1930's and lived in the same town as my Great Grandparents and they all knew one another so I assume that there must be some connection between my McCutcheon's and the McFarland's.... TIPTON, Iowa - David Arthur Schuelka, 34, of Thrall, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. The Rev. Ron Lashmit will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Schuelka was born Dec. 23, 1966, in Independence, the son of Charles Graves and Neva Delle McFarland.

He was a professional painter and remodeling contractor.

He was educated in Vinton and Tipton Community Schools. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, hunting, and his friendships.
Survivors include his mother, Neva Geinzer of Tipton; his stepfather, David Geinzer of Tipton; two brothers, Dennis Schuelka and his wife, Peggy, of Billings, Mont. and Tim Schuelka and his wife, Cheree, of Austin, Texas; a sister, Tammy Arnold of Tipton; two half brothers, Chuck Graves of Rockford, Ill. and Darrell Lensing of Waterloo; two half sisters, Judy DeFalco of Dickinson, Texas and Meredith Worstell and her husband, Gary of Dickinson; a stepsister, Diana Peters of Clinton.

In my direct line, I have John Wesley McFarland who came to Virginia from Scotland with his son, Robert Allen McFarland, who moved to Franklin Co., GA, after the Revolutionary War, where he had a thousand acres grant. For service in the War, don't know.

John Wesley McFarland died in Bedford Co, Virginia, 1784. I have some information about a John McFarland which I have not yet had the time to evaluate and research.

The information I have about Robert Allen McFarland is that he would have been about ten years old at the start of the Revolution. He did get 1000 acres in Georgia, but I doubt seriously that it was for service in the war.

Sorry. I have notes of him buying land in 1802, 200 acres, but no record of R. W. service.

Hiram McFarland is something of a "misfit" in my husband's tree -- a grandmother was a McFarlin (Christeena McFarlin Bell). Her father was Alexander James McFarlin/McFarland, but I've not made a good connection with them and Hiram other than the fact that two pictures of him (one of him, one with his family) were among Christeenah's son's belongings.

Interesting that you have a draft card for Joe. My father, Joe's son, had mentioned to me that my grandfather "Joe" had been drafted in WW2, but I think he was 45 at the time and they let him go.

I am in need of some help in finding the parents of my great great grandfather's parents. This is all the information I have been able to find on him. It seems before he got married he was a ghost.

Story from the Jasper County book:
He was bonded out (as the story goes) as a youth to a family called Tanners in St. Louis. He traveled across the Mississippi River to Jasper county where he met and married Eliza Jane Reed. Their marriage in 1878 resulted in 11 children-6 daughters and 5 sons. Benjamin was a distinguishable man with his striking blue eyes and white hair even at a very young age. Very little else is known about Benjamin and Eliza, however Eliza Jane died of a valvular lesion of the heart and influenza. She is buried in Vanderhoof Cemetery. It is believed that Benjamin was buried there also without a marker, but no proof exists.

Want info and/or will exchange info on Daniel McFarland (ca 1655-1738), and any mcFarlands of Tyrone area(Strabane/Ardstraw) pre-1718 (Daniel and sons left in 1718 and arrived Boston, Mass Summer 1718)possible brother of Daniel is Duncan McFarland od Rutland Mass. (also of Tyrone pre-1718). Possible that the name McFarland is an alias, as the line is clearly (by DNA) of MacGregor stock.

I have found a small unpublished book that was compiled by a McFarland family member with the help of my Grandmother and other sources. It is an old hardcopy. Im not sure how to share all this info and Duncan McFarland and Ann Porter are mentioned in this book. If you do not have the info in this book, Im sure you would find it very interesting.

I am looking for any information about Sarah Ann McFarland. I know that she and my great great grandfather John S. Davis
were married in Franklin County Indiana on Sept. 9th. 1852. I know that their children's names were Joseph, Robert, Hannah, Martha, John Henry and possibly others. Thanks.
