21 October 1926 The People’s Defender
In the midst of life we are in death this was made manifest on Oct. 8th when suddenly our neighborhood was bereft of one of earth’s purest and most loveable of womanhood.
While the Sun was slowly sinking in the beautiful western sunset and as loved ones watched beside her bed the earthy life of Miss Mary Ann McFeeters came to a close.
This life has gone from our midst and we but little understand why she has been taken, but we know “He doeth all things well.” Mary was of a sweet loveable disposition and to know her was but to love and admire her.
In the home, she was a sister, councilor, friend, possessed of many admirable traits with a heart of love and good will to all with whom she came in contact.
She will be sadly missed by her loved ones as she was always so devoted to the home and its duties.
Her labors of love are ended, but her pleasant smile and glad welcome will never be forgotten.
The subject of this sketch was born April 22, 1856, departed thus life Oct. 8, 1926 at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 16 days.
She was one of a family of seven children. Two brothers, one sister and father and mother preceded her in death a number of years ago.
The surviving brother and sisters are A. C. McFeeters, Mrs. John Foster and Mrs. Eliza J. Foster. Funeral services were held at the home at 11 o’clock Sunday morning conducted by the Rev. W. E. Mills and interment in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
