My great, great grandfather, Clemons McGarity was in Union County, South Carolina in l822. He had seven children, four boys.One Reference: Union County Wills Book, Book B, page 73 - 75. Reply if you want any further info on this branch of the family.

In regard to your message 12/5/2000, are these names familiar to you, Jackson on one census he is called John McGarity, wifes name was nancy, they lived in Toccoa Georgia I think that is in hart county area, I think he was born in South Carolina and moved to Toccoa from there to Paulding County. children: Manuel, Rance, Ann & Birt or Bird he spelled his name with two r's.

Are you referring to a Dr. Clemon McGarity? that was slave owner? If so, just put his name in the computer and it will pull him up
