I am seeking a male direct-line descendant with the surname of McGaughey or variations who would be interested in participating in Y-DNA testing. Our McGaughey line is the McGaha family of western NC (Transylvania Co, NC).

I am seeking to prove or disprove a connection with William (d 1750, York, PA) and Margaret McGaughey of PA, possibly through his son Alexander, who married Rachel Thompson and lived in old Tryon/Rutherford Cos, NC. I would especially like to find a proven male descendant of Alexander McGaughey, or of his brother William, who married Margaret Lackey and moved to Maury Co, TN. Other sons of William McGaughey were John and James.
