I believe my husbands g/grandfather John who is originally from Co Donegal (born in 1865 +/- 1 year) was a McGeady but the name was changed to McGeddie as I have reason to believe he was illiterate and would not have been aware of this error on documentation. Also I cannot find any other McGeddies other than his direct descendants. He married an Elizabeth Johnston from Drumkeering in Bathgate on 13-06-1888.
