My great grandfather John McGinn was born in Upper Canada about 1830, somewhere near Brockville, Elizabethtown, Leeds County, now eastern Ontario.Parents unknown.
I have been searching and posting this board for several years trying to connect to another McGinn clan. Nada!
I have concentrated my search on Leeds Grenville, Brockville area and I have only found one trace of a McGinn family there, 1830s.
At Ancestry.ca I found:
JACOB McGinn, living Finch Tp. ( east of Brockville) born Augusta Tp ( less east of Brockville), 26, s/o JOHN and LATISHA McGinn, married SARAH MCCADDEN/MCFADDEN?, 20, d/o ALEXANDER and MARY MCFADDEN or MCCADDEN, 01 April,1858 in Stormont County. ( Finch Tp. is in Stormont County)
I looked for both McCadden/McFadden and John and Latisha in the 1851 census with no luck. Jacob, born about 1832, in Augusta is not there either.
Family history Film 1030065.
Any McGinns out there have a John and Latisha or Jacob as Ancestors?
