I recently began searching for my husbands ancestors. The last name is Mcginty. The earliest finding is Henry Mcginty being 6 years old in Grimes county Texas. His grandmothers name is Laura Ashford possibly from North Carolina or Mississippi. There is a birth year given of 1817 but 2 different states on the census from 1870 and 1880. I would love to find any iformation about Laura ashford or Henry Mcginty. I do know that Henry married Sallie Wilson, but Sallie Wilson was a full blooded cherokee and was kidnapped from Oklahoma and given the name Sallie Wilson when she was brought to Texas.
