Did you find a Harry McGlade? He was born around 1884. Married to Virginia. 2 children Harry and Mary Elizabeth. Son Harry had 3 children Sheryl, Robert and Wendy. Daughter Mary Elizabeth had 3 children Virginia, William and Ronald.

What year Robert McGlade is married to Kelly but they are in their 60's. Is this helpful? Robert has 2 sisters Sheryl and Wendy. Their father was Harry and mother Alice.

my guess would be mid 1800's when great grandfather came from Ireland. I have an uncle (Harry) who traveled to Ireland several times to research our heritage. He did find the family but passed away before he shared the findings. Could you be a family member?

I don't know if this will help anyone.
My grandfather was Dan Patrick McGlade who came from Ireland, or Isle of Mann. This would be the early 1900s. He married Minnie Pratt. They had five children. Mary, Daniel, Frank, James William (my dad), and Agnes.
They settled in Wichita Kansas and he was a bricklayer. Dan Patrick left his family during the depression and died sometime in the late 80s. It is unknown what happened to Minnie Pratt McGlade.
James William McGlade b. 1927 carried on the bricklaying tradition and then started his own masonry business in St. Joseph Missouri. He passed away January of 97.
I would love to find some thread of information further back than Dan Patrick McGlade immigrating to New York.

I was in primary scholl (ages 5 to 11) from 1968 to 1975 with the daughter of Raymond McGlade. I heard he sadly died last year. There were about 3 daughters and 1 son, all of who will be in their 40s.

My McGlade ancestors settled in Ohio in 1809, having come from Virginia. I'm sure they were originally from Ireland/Scotland but I haven't traced them back that far. Sorry not to be able to offer some help.

Thank you Pat very much for answering my post! The only thing that I know about my family is that my dad and his side of the family was born in Paisle; I don't know of any other area in Scottland. But thank you again for the help.

Hi.I have just come across your post re McGlades in Scotland,My Gt Gt Grandfather was George McGlade bn in Belfast Circa 1830.He married Mgt Mitchell in 1854 in Airdrie Scotland and had two children Mgt and George jnr at the very least..who both ended up living in Partick Glasgow, haven;t found out much more about him yet....hope this helps

Yes, I would love whatever information that you have come across of the McGlade family.
I do know that my family did come from Paisley, Scottland. My father was born there and did move to Kearny, New Jersey. I am not sure as of what year the family moved, but it was when he was just a small boy. My father, Henry McGlade has passed away, he passed on Christmas Day, 12/24/2002.

I don't know if you are still looking, but I am doing a report for my son's school. His name is Joshua McGlade. He great grandfather was born in Scotland ( I believe Paisley) and came to New York via Canada, eventually settling in Kerney, New Jersey. If you'd like me to find out more, please post a reply.

I have McGlades from Muskingum county in my genealogy. Apparently the Mears, McCanns and McGlades lived close to one another and tended to marry each other. I will see if I can come up with anything.

Looking for info on g.g. grandparents. Stephen McGlade m. Sarah (no maiden name). Born in Banbridge, Ireland. They had five daughters: Mary; Isabelle; Jane; Elizabeth; and Sarah (my g.grandmother who married Hugh Devine of Edinburgh, Scotland). Sarah was b. 1860 d. 1946. My ancesor is Anna McGuckin, who came to America from County Antrim with her husband, William Murdoch, and family, in 1847. I would like to find who her parents were. They were farmers, and Anna was born ca. 1800. They were married near Belfast, and their children were: Isabel, Joabella?, Jennie, Anne Jane, William H., James M., Matilda, John, George, and an unknown girl who was buried at sea during their journey. All the children were born about seven miles from Belfast, probably on the family farm.
