Seeking information on John McGregor who lived in Halifax Co. Virginia. First documentation of him is three land patents (each for 400 acres) in 1754. These land entries are for land on Snow Creek, Bennett's Creek, and Chestnut Creek. I have various deeds for him and his wife Sarah. Does anyone know who Sarah is? Possible children from will documentation include: John, William, Elizabeth, Ursula (Ursley), and Jane. John married Polly Landsdown. William married Jency (Jane) Landsdown. Elizabeth married an Adams, and Ursley married Zachariah Williams - all in Halifax Co. VA. Other McGregors in Halifax Co. Va at the same time include James McGregor. His will lists Ritchie (Richard) McGregor as his administrator. Daniel who dies in 1833 lived with John and Sarah in the late 1700's, and he is listed on various deeds and marriage records along with John Sr., John Jr., and William. He leaves all his property and belongings in 1833 will to William, John Jr., Elizabeth, Ursley, and Jane. It does not look like Jane (Jennie) ever married. Any help with John's wife Sarah is appreciated. Also, does anyone know where John and Sarah were before arriving in Halifax Co., Va in 1754.
