BURTON JAY McHALEY , 74, of Chimay¢ died Friday. He was born of pioneer stock in the San Joaquin Valley in California. He studied at the University of California and received degrees in both pharmacy and dentistry. After moving to New Mexico in 1976, he was employed in the pharmacy at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, where he worked for 20 years. Throughout his professional life he volunteered service to those in need, both in Central America and northern New Mexico. He was an active member of El Buen Pastor Chimay¢ Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty McHaley; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dr. Robert Burns and family; his son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Stephanie Moraga McHaley and family. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at El Buen Pastor Chimay¢ Presbyterian Church.
