James H. in the1900 census

James H. and America McInturff are listed in the Ancestry.com census index as having a daughter "Savannah."

The census taker was actually writing "Louanna." Her occupation is Saleswoman... her father owned and operated a Mercantile in Clifton, KS and that's where she worked. We have two photographs of this family if anyone is interested.

Their three children were Lou Ann b.Dec 1870, Jennie G. b.1872, and William G. b.1876. All born Marion, Williamson County, Illinois

Looking for any information on the McInturf's who lived in Williamson County, IL in the 1870s or before or where they might have migrated from prior to settling in Illinois.

I have a list of the families, but I am looking for a connection to a specific family in 1870 with the surname of Wilson, but who are shown on the census as having a Geo, Martha and daughter Susan with them.

I am trying to find the father and mother of James Christopher McInturff, born 1853 and died 1925 and he is buried in Nashville, TN. James Christopher was married to Hannah E. Perkins in 1869. His children were Mollie McInturff and James Arthur McInturff.

I have an original carte de visite photograph of “James and Katie McInturff – Grandma and Grandpa”, taken in about 1870s, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Each of them looks to be in their 50s-60s.

I found two possible candidates for James and Katie. The most likely is James McInturff (b. Jan 1819; died Washington Co., KS) and Catherine (b. Jan 1816; died Washington Co., KS) – and they were in the 1895 Kansas state census. Probably not the James Samuel McInturff (b. Mar 1839), who married Sarah Katherine Jones in Washington Co., TN.

Looking for info on a Susan A ( maiden name unknown) McInturff born abt 1850 maybe NC.
McInturff that she married is unknown but they had a daughter named Mollie M McInturff born abt 1877.
They are in Western Tn by 1892 because Susan remarried in Lauderdale Co,Tn to GW Frazier/Frazor in 1892.
Mollie M McInturff(Frazier/Frazor) married Ethraim Keltner .

Barbara My great grandparents were Elanson Reynard and Nancy McInturff daughter of Henry McInturff son of David. I have heard from other researchers that Henry was known as "Mountain Henry" and also that he was a photographer. Is there any mention of this in your books. I had not heard of the books before but would be very interested in any information you could provide me.

I have found another ancestor and was wondering if you had him in your information. His name is Isaac Henry McInturff. He is the son of the man I inquired about earlier. I also have a name that I looked up at a earlier time, and I am not sure if he is related to my husband's family. He is listed as living in Illinois and that where I am told that most of my husbands family comes from. His name is Alfred McInturff, b.1830 Married Margret Crow.b. 1834 in Jackson Co. Ill. That is all the info I have and would very much appreciate any info that you may have.

Levi McInturff was my great great great granddaddy. He was the one who was born in 1824 and died in 1908. He was married to Elizabeth Redmon and Rebecca Margaret Linaweaver. He claimed to be the second man over the wall at the battle of Chapultapec during the Mexican War. He fought in the 10th Va infantry during the Civil War but was kicked out in 1862 because of his age and his severe rheumatism. Sounds like the pills cured him of that though. I have never heard of the pink pill story and am very interested. If you want to know any more about Levi, e-mail me at yngbucks@shentel.net. I know several more anecdotes from his life and am always interested in learning more.

ago from Bellefontaine. He had
been employed by the State of
Ohio as an occupational analyst.
He granduated from the Johnson-

Wittenberg College. He was a
member of the St. Paris Methodist
Church and the Pharos Masonic
Lodge, F. and A. M. and was a
veteran of World War II serving
with the U. S. Army.
Mr. Runkle is survved by his
widow, the former Jeanette Shires,
two sins, James L. and Gary L.
at home; one sister, Miss
Marjorie Runkle of St. Paris; two
half brothers, Charles Runkle of
Xenia and Thomas Motschman of

Survivors inclde one son and
daughter-in-law, Hugh R. and Nancy
Ginn, West Carrollton; two
daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara
Carpenter, Dayton, and Linda and
Morris Pence, Springfield; six
grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; an a sister-in-law
and her husband, Mildred and Clydus Steinberger, New Paris.
She was proceded in death by her husband, Hugh Ginn, whom she
married June 17, 1932, and who died
Feb 22, 1981; her parents; and one
brother, Loren McInturff.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the
Richeson-Wickham and Atkins
Funeral Home, St. Paris, with the
Rev. Roger Loper officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, St.
Paris.
Friends ma call Wednesday from
3 to 5 and from 6 to 8 p.m. in the
funeral home.

Frank G. Mohr, 81, of Spring-
hills, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednes-
day, at his home. He had been
ill since Saturday.
Mohr was born Oct. 2, 1879,
near Springhills, the son of Fred-
erick C. and Sara Ann Brinser
Mohr.
A retired farmer, he was a
member of the Springhills Pres-
byterian Church and at one time
was an elder of the church. He
had also served as a trustee for
Harrison Township.
Survivors, in addition to his
wife, include one daughter, Mrs.
Helen Fitzsimmons, at home. A
sister proceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sa-
terday in the Springhills Presby-
terian Church, with the Rev. Cal-
vin Stratton, pastor of the West
Liberty Presbyterian Church, of-
ficiating. Friends may call at the
residence, from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. on Friday.
Burial will be in Concord Ceme-
tery. The Hostetter Memorial
Home, West Liberty, has charge
of the arrangements.

ah Elizabeth Mohr, 81, of
Springhills, died at midnight
Tuesday in her residence. She
had been ill for several years
and seriously ill three months.
She was born Jan. 14, 1884, in
Harrison Township, the daugh-
ter of Thomas and Anna Norris
McInturff. She was married to
Frank G. Mohr on Dec. 25, 1900,
and he preceded her in death
March 8, 1961,
A daughter, Helen, of Spring-
hills, survives. Two brothers
and two sisters preceded her in
death.
Mrs. Mohr was a member of
the Springhills Presbyterian
Church, where services will be
held Friday at 2 p.m., with the
pastor, the Rev. Lewis Frees,
officiating.

Daniel Perry McInturff, 67, of
Millerstown, died at 1:30 a. m.
Tuesday the victim of a heart at-
tack.
McInturff, who was born in In-
diana, December 13, 1885, was the
son of William and Melinda Houser
McInturff. He lived most of his
life in Millerstown.
Survivors include three brothers,
Dory, George and Edward, all of
St. Paris, and three sisters, Mrs.
Hattie Dilbone of DeGraff, Mrs.
Ward Funk of St. Paris and Dolly
at home.
Funeral services are to be hel
at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Riche-
son-Wickham funeral home, St.
Paris, with burial in Spring Grove
Cemetery.
