From June 9 – 24, 2009 Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) is offering a huge price reduction for the yDNA 37 marker test + the mtDNA test! The savings is more than 50% of the regular cost.

What a great opportunity to get that male McK*nney relative to participate in the project at a very nice savings.

Remember that although the yDNA is found ONLY with males (passed from father to son) the mtDNA (also known as mitochondrial DNA) is passed from the mother to both her daughters and her sons. Only her daughters can pass it on further.

So any male McK*nney would have yDNA of his father and mtDNA of his mother but he would not be able to pass the mtDNA on to any of his children. His mtDNA result would be for his maternal line: his mother, his mother’s mother, etc.

Please feel free to contact me for further information if you are interested and I will answer any questions you might have and/or direct you to the FTDNA website for enrolling.
