The maiden name of Nancy (who was likely also ‘Sarah’) is unknown. The parents of John b. ca 1812 continue to be a mystery. It is possible (though NOT proved!) that he could be a son of John McKenney (ca 1770 VA – ca 1840 KY) and Mary Wiseman (ca 1770 PA – ca 1830 KY).

At this time the only way to prove one way or the other which McKinney family he belongs to would be for a male descendant of this couple to participate in the yDNA McKinney surname project!! Are there any males McKinneys out there who can trace their ancestry to either Andrew B. McKinney b. ca 1876 in Missouri (son of Andrew R. McKinney and Eliza Ann Smoot) or of William H. McKinney b. ca 1840 in Missouri (son of John McKinney and Nancy).
