What a surprise to hear from you! Since the holidays I've been involved in a couple of big projects and haven't been doing anything with my geneaology. So your reply today was a real treat. Essie has been a mystery.

I know you don't have your materials with you, but just wondered whether you might know or remember where in California Essie was born. I live in California and knowing where might give me an excuse for a field trip.
