I HAVE COMPILED SIGNIFICANT INFORMATION ON THE DESCENDANTS OF HUGH AND MARY MACKINNON WHO EMIGRATED FROM BARRA IN 1817 AND SETTLED AT MACKINNON'S BROOK. THE AREA IS NAMED FOR THIS FAMILY. THE PIONEERS(HUGH AND MARY) WOULD BE MY GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER& GRANDMOTHER. THEY HAD 3 SONS AND 2 DAUGHTERS THAT WERE LIVING WITH THEM WHEN HUGH MACKINNON DROWNED IN 1819. I AM STILL SEEKING TO LEARN OF THE FINAL RESTING PLACE OF THE YOUNGEST SON, NEIL, M. FLORA MACINNIS. NEIL'S SON HECTOR WAS MY GRANDFATHER.THIS BRANCH OF THE FAMILY SPELLED THE NAME MCKINNON.OTHER BRANCHES USE BOTH SPELLINGS. THE RESEARCH I HAVE COMPILED HAS APPROX 800 SURNAMES CONNECTED TO THESE PIONEERS. WILL HELP IF I CAN
