Lt. Roderick M. McKinnon, bigamist

Classification: Query
Surnames: McKinnon, Whitworth, Hudgins
I found a newspaper clipping (circa 1943) in my step-inlaw's files about an Army Lt. Roderick M. McKinnon, age 34, who was arrested on suspicion of passing bag checks and was wanted in Los Angeles for forgery and bigamy. This got me curious so I checked online and found his court martial records at: http://books.google.com/books?id=Or0xEbRH3FoC&pg=PT169&a...

If that link doesn't work, just search for Lt. Roderick McKinnon Camp Beale. Because my step inlaws lived in Fresno, I believe that in the 1930 census, he was living in Fresno, age 20, with his parents Roderick M. and Katherine McKinnon, ages 51 and 48, respectively.

In the court martial docs, his first wife was Frederica Mozart Whitworth McKinnon, whom he wed on 15 March 1942 at Pulaski County Arkansas. His second wife (for only a couple days) was Mrs. Martha Elliott Hudgins and they married in LA on 7 June 1944. Wish my own family had stories like this!
