Ellen McMackin born c. 1840/41 in "NY", married Thomas Curtis Hart in Brooklyn, NYC c. 1862. Had children Frederick Hart b. 1863, and Anna b. 1867. She is with Thomas in the 1870 census, but he has a different wife in 1880, Emma Rimmer,with the same family. Family tradition indicates she may have been from Pennsylvania. Lived in the area of 21st Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

I don't know what happened to her or who her parents were. Does anyone have any possible leads?

I am a descendant of Sanford McMicken through my great-grandfather Presley McMicken.
The 1850 Federal Census lists (with surname McMacken Sanford and wife Elizabeth, with children Hannah, age 1; James and Salomon, age 3; Matthew, age 6, Cassandre, age 9; Andy, age 11; Presley, age 13, and Jane, age 15.
Sanford was born in Spartanville, SC, but moved to Alabama where he died.
Sanford's mother was Jane McMakin, and her paternal lineage can be traced back several generations to an ancestor William McMechen, born 1688 and died 1738 who was born in Ireland, emigrated to New Castle, DE and died there.
Some believe Sanford's father was Joshua Brown, who worked for Jane's father, James McMakin, and is named in his will.

Can I have an invitation to your site? I am currently writing a book about the two children of Dr. William McMackin (son of Colonel Warren McMackin). The eldest of these children married into my family in the 1920s and brought the younger brother along. both are buried in our graveyard. we didn't know that the younger brother was a silent film director when he was with us. Just found out in this century after I started roving the Internet.

John McMackin b. 30 January 1897, Tennessee d. 17 January 1963 Oklahoma. Buried at Fairlawn Cemetery. His parents are Marion McMackin and Susan (Suda) B. Scott McMackin.

Found John on the 1900 and 1910 census, cannot find him after that. Would like to know if he married and had any children. Thanks.

Caleb McMackin was my fourth great uncle, David's
youger brother. David is My third great grandfather.
They are buried side by side in Hollowrock, Tennessee. Buuceston - Vale Road. The graves stones are plainly marked I found the graves this past summer on my vacation
while searching various cemeteries for McMackin graves. Caleb and David were the son's of James Alexander McMackin Jr. David had a son James William McMackin who married Jane Driver, she is my grandmother's grandmother. Seeking info on Rebecca McMackin who married James (Ancestry.com records for TN State Marriages 1780-2002) says James Kesseneer but believe it to be Tessneer/Tesnear August 24, 1872 Greene Co., TN. James Tusineer/Tessneer/Tesnear and a Rebecca (wife) are in the 1880, Greene Co., TN census giving their age as 26 which would make them both born abt 1854. In 1894, James remarries a Betty Estep in Greene County. Can find no trace of Rebecca. Does anyone have any information on Rebecca?

Looking to find information on Hubert McMackin. He is the son of Andrew Johnson and Ada G. (Scott) McMackin. The census show him born around 1902/1903.

Ada died in 1904. Andrew then married someone named Hannah S. She is on the 1910 & 1920 census.

At Speedwell Cemetery Lena is listed as Lena McMackin Ellis with no dates. Anyone know who she married and when? Also does anyone know when she died? Thanks for your time.

Hi Cheryl its been along time but Im just learning how to Use my computer I dont have the emails down yet but I will send you a pic of mom and daddys grave.My son is in AL asad Iraq hes been there now for 4months thats mostly what i've been up to lots of traveling when you have a military personnel in ur life, But he is doing very well thank you for asking. Well I hope mary is very happy.when we were growing up we called our sister by a nick name my brother robin gave her when he was little(WAWA) I do believe uncle george was the one who started calling our sister (Big Geneva )by the name of ( Sandy) later when mom had (Little Geneva )she was named after both of them (Geneva Georgette Mcmackin)she was called (Little Geneva )even though by then everyone had started calling (WaWa) Sandy.I wanted to tell you just a little about my kids I have already told you about Christopher hes 21 and he graduated in 2005 and went straight in the National Gaurd. Then there is Sarah shes 20 she graduated in 2007 and is now in college. Then there is Vanessa she Is 18 She graduates this year and wants to go to beauty college.then there is Matthew he is 14 and he goes into the 9th grade this year and my last child is Jeffrey hes 12 he is In 7th grade I have learned ONE thing growing up if you dont have God in your life it will be hard it is he who has help me raise my kids without him I would have been lost.But it has been real nice talking to you take care, Sorry for the long paragraph I hope all is well with all your Brothers and Sisters and that they are happy and wish them the best. I remember you Cheryl you were at Uncle George's house at his birthday party. You were very small
and very Beautiful . At the time I was 17 and pregnant with my 2nd baby. I remember thinking how beautiful uncle george's girls were I dont really remember Little Mary much but you and Shirley and Lindy and Rick and George . Also you ask me about Big Sandy I think they called her that because she was the oldest of the kids Im not sure though.Also we are only related to Dad and Saundra The infant in the cemetary she was my brother Charles first born daughter. Okay,Moms Mothers name was Molly Jane Collins, and her fathers was Edward James Collins.Okay with our Uncle Chuck I will try to give you all the names Im not sure about the dates but I will try and get them for you for his kids . Did you know that our dads had a brother named Orville. He would be in between them. He died when he was 11 months old.

Thank you for telling me about find a grave. Its a wonderful site. So is your moms middle name Ellen? I know on the rememberence card it said Allen. What was her mothers name?

Do you know the infant Sandra L. McMackin born and died March 30, 1984? How many from our family are buried there?

Do you know the names of all the children our uncle Chuck had? I think they had a big family. Sorry for all the questions but I would like our family tree to be complete. I don't want to leave anyone out. Hope to hear from you soon.

I just got a copy of Marion McMackin death certificate. I was hoping that it showed his mothers name but it did not. I will have to try some thing else to get it. Also did not show where he was born. Some people say Tennessee and others say North Carolina. I want to find which one is right.

I have not found your mom and dads marriage yet either. Can you tell me when and where your mom was born?

I know uncle Chuck's daughter Barbara Ann. Who is her mom?
I have a picture of Barbara, my dad George and my mom Mary, when Barbara was about 13 yrs. old. I don't think Chuck was married to Jennie then. I remember sleeping over Gloria house when I was young. We tried to iron a dress and we burned it. Debbie was really little then. As I remember Barbara didn't get to mad at us.

What house was my dad living in? That would have been around 1986 if you were 17 yrs old. I was 31 then.

I thought that was the Sandy you meant. She took really good care of my dad. She loved him alot. I'am glad my dad had Sandy. We had alot of fun with them when Shirley, Mary and myself went to the Virgin River Casino. My dad always said if the slot machine needs three coins put it in.

Your brother Charles, who did he marry? Any dates and where?

When does Christopher leave for Iraq? My you are a busy mom. We have a Matthew also he is 16 (will turn 17 in Feb). He is in JROTC at school and wants to go into the Air Force. He has loved airplanes since he was one. Maryann is 14 (turning 15 in Feb). Loves drawing and reading. Thats alittle about my children.

What about your brother Charles is he married. How many chldren does he have? Where does he live?
