any information on the family name

My paternal grandmother was Anna McManus. Unfortunately I know nothing of this side of my family. It was after my father died that We found out any info. If you can help please respond. Where does the name originate? I live in the Cleveland area, as far as I know so did my grandmother. She is buried here.
