There are four books out there about the Jame Warnick Family. You can get them at the Public Libaray in the Genealogy Section of the libary. I am related to Jane Warnick Family.

I was very fortunate that I got to know Aunt Dovie before she passed away. She lived in Durant, Bryan County, Oklahoma. Uncle Love was buried in Kemp Cemetery in Southern Bryan County. My grandfather was Fount one of their brothers. I do have some pictures of the family.

My dad is Jerry Wayne McMennamy. I think he had an uncle named Jerry. I have pictures of the bible if you will e-mail me directly I will try to scan and send them to you. okhorns@aol.com I can not remember the guys name who had the bible but I will look it up for you. He was a judge there in amarillo. We also visited with a guy who was a plumber there in Amarillo. Forgot his name too sorry! This was years ago but they were great folks. It was a fun trip. Especially fun to find out that we were not the only McMennamy's on the planet and that we did indeed have relatives somewhere.

Really? I didn't know anything about a bible! That would be SO awesome to get to see! Do you know who has it? My father is Lynn McMennamy (Jerry Lynn McMennamy Jr.) and my grandfather is Jerry McMennamy (duh LOL). Any info you could help me out with I would greatly appreciate!

We are distant cousins. I even started my family tree search in Amarillo. I was fortunate enough to get to see, hold and take pictures of the old McMennamy family bible. Who are your parents and grandparents?

Nancy "McMenneme" as listed on a death certificate, married Henry Small. I believe in Missouri as their daughter, Sarah Small was born November 6, 1867 in Bridgeton, MO and died Oct 1950 near St. Louis, MO. Sarah married Cyrus Townsend and had at least one son, Manuel Lawrence Townsend born Oct. 13, 1899 in St. Louis, MO. Manual married Margaret Kayser and they resided in Troy, MO. Can someone, anyone, please help me with these people? Any relations out there? Thank you,

I am looking for any information about William Henry McMennamy, born in 1881 in or around McKinney Texas. He married my grandmother and I believe her name was Marfola Mackey (That name appears on my fathers birth certificate) They have no social security numbers, and I have run into a blank wall. I have been told that my grandfather is Love Marvin McMennamy and that he had a twin sister Dove (Lovey and Dovey?). I know that Love McMennamy lived in Bryan/Kemp? Texas. Thats all I know, hope it helps, Donna

Hi- there are many diffrent spellings of the name Mcmennamy and it seems to change depending on what region you reside and also how it may have been spelled by census records and other documents if the family memeber was not able to write.
I was told that our side of the McMenomay's were from Scotland but have found over time that most were born in Ireland. And finally settled in Philadelphia.
The best thing to do would be to start with your grandfather and work your way back through the family with him collecting names, birth dates, death dates, etc.

I would love to research my family history. My grandfather is getting older and my brother is the last name sake in my family and not to excited about passing it along. Not yet at least (he is 21). McMennamy, John and John H.

I have just begun the McMennamy line and am looking for information on the line of John McMennamy who was born March 10, 1793, in Rutherford County, TN. He immigrated to Macon County, Illinois, in October 1826 with his his brother-in-law, John Ward. John Sr. then relocated to Texas in 1839 and died there. ("History of Macon County," published in 1876)

Of his children:

JOHN H. was born in 1814, in Tennessee, and has been constable in Macon county for 20 years. His wife died some 25 years ago. He had two children:

George who died a few years ago, and
Dr. B. F. McMennamy, now of Moultrie
County.

LUCINDA (Now Martin), who resides in Harristown township (Illinois).

Prior to her marriage to Mr. Martin, Lucinda married James Warnick 9/26/1839.

I have been unable to find any other information on this McMennamy line.

I have a copy of a newspaper obit of your grandmother's in Quanah, TX. Says Mrs. May C McMennamy was born June 21, 1888 in Missouri. Contact me directly and I'll try to scan it and send you a copy if you want it. I came by it from one of my Aunts in Wichita Falls. I had no idea who she was until one of her sons called me. I told him about it and I was shocked to find she was his mother. Turns out we're cousins.

I also have info that goes back to John McMenamy, b: June 17, 1738 in Northern Ireland.
