Jamie,

My dad is Jerry Wayne McMennamy. I think he had an uncle named Jerry. I have pictures of the bible if you will e-mail me directly I will try to scan and send them to you. okhorns@aol.com I can not remember the guys name who had the bible but I will look it up for you. He was a judge there in amarillo. We also visited with a guy who was a plumber there in Amarillo. Forgot his name too sorry! This was years ago but they were great folks. It was a fun trip. Especially fun to find out that we were not the only McMennamy's on the planet and that we did indeed have relatives somewhere.

Alicia

Hi- there are many diffrent spellings of the name Mcmennamy and it seems to change depending on what region you reside and also how it may have been spelled by census records and other documents if the family memeber was not able to write.
I was told that our side of the McMenomay's were from Scotland but have found over time that most were born in Ireland. And finally settled in Philadelphia.
The best thing to do would be to start with your grandfather and work your way back through the family with him collecting names, birth dates, death dates, etc.
If you get some names and dates repost them. Check out the site http://www.stranabrade.org/index.html
Hi,
McMennamy comes from the same root Irish name as mine... i.e. McMeanma. In case you are not aware we have several websites dedicated to the extended "clan", and a mailing list. The web site is http://www.mcmenemy.org and this will also show links to the other sites.

You should sign up for the mailing list and meet up with more Mc's... on RootsWeb to discuss the origin, development and evolution of the McM* clan and name. Many McM*s (all other flavours of the name) from all over the world have since joined. Our discussions (and sometimes vigorous debates!) have resulted in a large and interesting collection of information on the history of the McM's. We "listers" also welcome and respond to queries on individual searches for McM ancestors. To join, simply send an e-mail message to MCMENEMY-L-request@rootsweb.com with only the word SUBSCRIBE as the subject and also in the body of the message. When your membership is confirmed, you will begin to receive all messages sent by other members and can post messages to MCMENEMY-L@rootsweb.com which will be received by all of them.
