I am trying to find info about my James McMullin (McMillin, McMillen). He died in 1815 in Missouri on Loutre Creek. he was killed by indians along with his Captain James Calloway and a few others while recovering stolen horses.

James McMullin had at least one son, John Milton McMillin, who married Daniel Boone's granddaughter Coanza Burilla Howell.

I can't figure out where my James came from before he was killed in St Charles Missouri in 1815.

We are looking at a McMillan Family that was at Fort Boonesborough with Daniel Boone after 1776. This family has many James and John McMillans, I am hoping my James was related to them.
Since Daniel came to St Charles, Mo in 1799, it is possible that James McMillin came with him, or after him from Boonesborough.

Does anyone have a James McMullen/ McMillin born anytime before 1800 that may have ended up in St Charles?
THanks in advance........
