I am a descendant of Col. Hugh McNary and I was trying to find exactly where his roots were from in Scotland/Ireland.

He is mentioned here (some of you may be able to use this):

Apparently his parents were William and Ann campbell McNary from Virgina however I dont see any records here that go back to immigration before 1841. If his brothers died in the war of 1812 they had to be here earlier.

Does anyone have any information on this? Any help is much appreciate.
