Seeking info on Jane (Eagle) McNew b.1806 Tn.
She married Henry McNew in the early 1820's. They resided in Marion Co. Tenn. in the 1830 census and in Bedford Co. in the 1840 census. Several children were born to this marriage, but by 1850, Jane was a widow with one daughter left at home, Elvira b.1843. I believe I have found at least 4 of the daughters:
Sophia Ellen McNew b.1830, m.Andrew Jackson Reed
Lucinda McNew b.1822 m.James Armstrong
Polly McNew b.1825
Unknown female b.1835-40
Elvira McNew b.1861, m.Alfred Knott
There were several sons, but I haven't found any of them as of yet. According to the census they were:
1 male b.1820-25
1 " b.1825-30
1 " b.1830-35
1 " b.1835-40
Would really love to find out more about this family, in particular, Jane's parents whos surname was Eagle (?).
