My greatgrandmother was Margaret Sarah Foryst Prentice Gilfillan MacPhee, born 1852? in Rutherglen in Lanarkshire, Scotland. She died in 1951 in Centerville, Iowa.

Apparently Margaret was raised in Scotland by James MacPhee or McPhie and Christina Robertson. My Mitchell family said that Margaret's father's first name was Alexander and that Margaret lost her mother early in her childhood, but my family's oral history has not been very reliable.

I have used Intenet records to stitch together Margaret's family tree which--no surprise--includes these families: Forrest, Prentice, Gilfillan and Robertson.

I would appreciate information about Margaret's families and some solid information about the names of her parents. I knew Margaret fairly well and have bits and pieces about MacPhees in Iowa. I have photos of Margaret, one from Coatbridge in the UKK..
