My name is Miles McQuiston and I have been doing research on my family tree for about 15 years now and I am currently concentrating on my dad's family. I don't know if you can help me but any advice or help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I have ordered my dad's birth certificate and my grandpa and great grandpa's death certificates and that information is as follows. My dad is Jessie Lee McQuiston born September 22-1931 ( in Bonne Terre, Missouri ) and died June 26-1990 ( in Baxter Springs, Kansas ) . His dad, my grandpa is Oney Holloway McQuistion born January 10-1911 ( in Alluew, Oklahoma ) and died July 21-1989 ( in Miami, Oklahoma ) . His dad, my great grandpa Miles Holloway McQuiston born 1858 ( don't know the month or day in or what town in Missouri ) and died January 5-1929 ( in the Village of Catate, Township of Chelsea, Oklahoma ). Part of my family spell their last name McQuistion and part spell it McQuiston as my son and I do. I have done a lot of research in the US Census and have found my grandpa and great grandpa's families in the 1920 and 1930 census. Unfortunately I have not been able to go beyond Miles because his death certificate list his parents and their birth places as unknown. Can you suggest a course of action that I could pursue at this point as I am out of ideas.
My mother's maiden name is Griffin and her mother's maiden name is McConnell so I believe that I have a good bit of Irish in me and would like to be able to present my family with our genealogically history some day. This is very improtant to me and if you can help me in any way I would appreciate it very much.
