Margie Meck, b.abt 1893; sister Edna, b.abt 1892, dau of Amos/Lillie, lived Lancaster Co., PA

I have an original postcard photograph of “Myrtle Appleton, Margie Meck and Edna Meck”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Each of them looks to be about early 20s, and from the type of postcard, this was taken in approx. 1915.

I found Myrtle Appleton, age 29, in the 1920 census for Providence (Lancaster Co.) PA, showing Myrtle was wife of Maris Appleton, age 30. Margie Meck, age 17, and sister Edna Meck, age 18, were in the 1910 census for Providence (Lancaster Co.) PA, daughters of Amos W. and Lillie Meck – so the girls were all about the same age in the photo (about early 20s).

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Margie or Edna Meck.

Martin and Anna Meck of MO

Looking for information on Martin Meck, born Feb 14 1830 in Germany. He came to the US around 1850 and married Anna (Stunkamp?) in Moberly MO. I found the family in a Colorado Census from 1880. The children were Edward, Flora, John, Mary, and Frederic (my Great Grandfather). Frederic was actually his middle name, first name was Goerge - just went by Frederic. Frederic married Elizebeth Dorreta Williamsburg (last name questionable) in 1884 and they moved to Ione Washington with their kids in 1901. Lizzie, as she was known, was said to be 1/4 indian and came from Ohio. Interested in any information on Martin or Anna's ancestry and any proof we can find about our Indian heritage through Lizzie (and any other information possible about her). Would like to know what tribe, etc.

Mecks in Iowa

Looking for any information on John Jacob Meck-born 11/28/1850 in Freicelsheim(?), Bavaria, Germany. Came to the U.S. in 1865, believe with a brother named George and parents (names unknown). Moved to Burlington, Iowa in 1869 possibly from New York. Married Martha Beady (Beatty) on 6/22/1872 in Burlington. (Martha born 2/15/1853 in Fayette County, Ohio). Had 9 children: George Washington-born 10/14/1875 died 1/4/1948; Levina-born 11/24/1877 died 11/29/1877, Lucy Jane-born 8/14/1880, died 1/15/1923; Fannie Elizabeth-born 4/14/1882 died 1/5/1965; Thomas Jefferson-born 9/16/1884 died 1/12/1937; John Henry (my gr-grandfather)-born 10/28/1886 died 10/4/1940; May E.-born 12/14/1888 died 1/23/1889; Sophia Phoebe-born 8/15/1893 died 7/1979; and William Jennings-born 2/14/1897 died 3/16/1950. All 9 children were born and raised in Burlington, tho sometime in the late 1920's or early 1930's Sophia husband Robert Leon Mariette and William Jennings Meck his wife (Ruby?) moved to California, perhaps to the Los Angeles area. Cannot find any info on John Jacob Meck's parents or siblings or on Martha Beady's (Beatty?) family. Also, any help with info on 2 of their children-Sophia Meck Mariette or William Jennings Meck would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone heard of a town called Freicelsheim, Germany? Thanks

Ewa Mech (Meck) in Plymouth PA.

I am looking for the descendants of Ewa Mech. She came to Plymouth PA from Lipina Poland in 1909 at the age of twenty.
She came to join her father Stephan Mech, who had come previously (abt. 1898-1908). If this is the Stephan Mech I am THINKING it is, he would have been a widower, and possibly brought his son Michael with him. There was one son, John, who stayed in Poland. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Jacob Meck Holloway

Jacob was born 1807-1812? in Tennessee. Trying locate his parents. His mother probably was a Meck. They may have met in
Pa. or Ohio. I do see Jacob in Delaware Co.,
Ind. where he married Elizabeth Simmons in
1835. He bought land in that county in 1838
where his middle name appears. Jacob and his family moved from Ind. around 1850 to
Missouri (Douglas Co. in 1860). Jacob died
in 1860 but his family moved on to Newton
County, Mo. in 1870. Lost track of them in
1880 on, but do know that one of his sons,
John R. settled in Jefferson Co., Ill. in 1866 where he married Matilda Cochran. Suspect that many of the descendants left
Missouri for Ark., Arizona, Texas. Jim H.
