I don't know if you're still looking for lines but i'm a descendant of J. L. Medsker 1848-1932 wife was Sarah C. Kirth 1845-1901 through their son Wesley Medsker who is my great great Grandfather. Wesley's son Carl is the father of John who is my father and they primarily lived in Springfield Missouri. I now live in NYC but only since last October. I would love to see or read anything you've read about... I can get you photos of us if that's at all interesting however i don't have photos of anybody beyond my father.

there seems to be a dead end with Carl however I know there is something private in nature that went on with Carl and i'm not ashamed of it however some other descendants might be so I don't want to discuss it on here. If anybody knows anything about him that would be interesting too.

WE have to have a connection, my father was born in Troy Kansas. Roy Russell Medsker B.8/30/1914. His mother was Minnie May (Edwards) Medsker. His father was John Medsker. My father told me his grandfather and a spinster aunt ran a family store there and they had a farm outside of town and a house in town. He(grandfather) also had some brothers in Troy. I am a member of the Christian Metzger Family Assocition. Frederick was the only son of Christian and had a farm in Smithton. Family lore has it that Johnny Appleseed did stop by the farm and get seeds from the cider press that he had.

Frederick Medsgar / Oliver Perrry Medsger - Smithton, PA

I am trying to find more information about the farm of a Frederick Medsgar (could also have been spelled Medsger or Medsker) in Smithton, Westmoreland County, PA. Likely lived in late 1790's - early 1800's. I believe this may have been farm from which Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) obtained his first apple seeds which he used to plant orchards in Ohio and Indiana. Oliver Perry Medsger wrote several books, one entitled "Edible Wild Plants" in the 1930's and is said to have been his great-grandson.

JL Medsker is John L he is in Pond Creek Greene co MO. His father is Alexander Hamilton Metsker born 1810 in Greene co OH, mother Sarah Dowell born 1811 in VA. I am a decendant of his sister Josaphine Drusella. The line goes back thru Jacob bonr 1771 VA and George born 1750 Ger.lived in Huntingdon PA

No, sorry I do not know of an Anna Medsker...I have my family back to my great grandfather Jacob Medsker born in Indianapolis, Indiana 1836...and found him in the familysearch.com with a father Adam and a brother Adam Jr. and then there is a lot of family on back which I have not had time to look over. I still have a few things to find out about them but I know all their names except my uncle Clarence Medsker's family on down....but they would not be that far back in years. Tanks Shirley Strosaker

No, I do not know of Anna.. I have my Medsker family tree searched back to Jacob Medsker b. 1836 Indianapolis, Indiana..his father was Adam and brother also Adam Jr. I found Jacob in the familysearch.com where it takes the family tree on back real far... the only family names I am not sure of are my uncle Clarance Medsker's children..and they would not be that far back in years. A couple other things I am searching on them but I know their names and they are not Anna. Thanks for the inquiry....Shirley

JL's siblings are Josaphine Druisella (1842IN-1921)m Joseph G Barkley; George F (b1840IN) Abraham (b1845MO) m Nancy J; William (b 1847MO) your JL; Mary L (b 1853IN) m a Mr Scotte and 2 other daughters one of whom I think is Sara C(b 1837IL)m Aaron Coin. I don't know if there is a second marriage for JL. The parents are Alexander Hamilton Metsker (b 1810 Greene co OH-d abt 1870 Grayson co TX) and Sarah Dowell (b 1811 VA and d after 1880). I have found this family in Warren co IN in 1840, Bloomfield Edgar go IL in 1860 and Sarah and Mary in Greene co MO in 1870 and in MOand TX in 1880. They are in MO in 1850 but I can't seem to find them in the census. Alexander connects to Jacob Metsker on the world wide tree for the ancestors.

Leonard Medsker was my adopted mother's father, and she is searching for her niece, which was the daughter of one of her two brothers. All I know is that her name was Pam, nothing more on her. Leonard was married to Jessie Mada known as Mada, and they had three children, two boys, and a girl (my adoptive mother), Doris. I really don't have any other information about them. Shirley..Have you heard of a Anna Medsker, she married a Frank Campbell. They had a son March 11, 1905 in Muldrow, Oklahoma, Sequoyah Co. We know that Frank spent a good deal of time in St. Joseph Missouri as did Wilson Medsker Campbell who worked for Farmers Union Live stock there in St. Jo.

Looking for informaion on Anna Medsker married Frank Campbell, know one of the children was born in March 1905 by the name of Wilson Medsker Campbell. Fairly sure they are from the St. Joseph Missouri area or St. Louis.
