I found a copy of a message posted to the Rootsweb message board. In it the person wrote about their gg-mother Ellen, the daughter of Thomas Meehan and Mary Dunleavy of Ireland.
Ellen had two brothers who were also born in Ireland. James born in 1847 and Patrick born in 1851. They were born in Drumcliff and Magherow, Sligo, Ireland. Parents were Thomas Meehan and Mary Dunleavy.

James immigrated to the U. S. in 1868 bringing with him the first two children of Ellen and Frank Marley. He is living with the Marleys in 1870 per the census.

Does anyone have any idea what happened to James after the census. My gg-father was James Meehan born around 1846. He married a Margaret Langan in Pittsburgh in 1871. Their first two children were born in Pittsburgh. The next 3 were born in Cleveland, Ohio

I also found a record of a Jacobus Meehan and Margarita Lenaghan getting married Aug 31 1870 in Drumcliff and Magherow, Sligo, Ireland. This is the same area James and Patrick, the brothers of Ellen and the sons of Thomas Meehan and Mary Dunleavy were born.
