Homer Virgil Meeker (1867-1936) was the son of Daniel Virgil and Lydia Jane (Alkire) Meeker. It appears some of Homer's children carried the name of Girtin/Girton. Possibly stepchildren?? Homer was born in Illinois; by 1910 he was living in Missouri.
Of 11 children, the eldest carried the Girtin name -- Lula, Lilia, Elizabeth and William (1885-1897). Perhaps his first wife was a Girtin/Girton? Homer married again in 1897.
My research involves the Girton line. Any help would be appreciated.
