KEENE VALLEY — Benjamin D. Melville, 44, of Keene Valley, died on June 9, 2006, in an automobile accident.
Ben was the son of Dean F. and Sandra A. Melville of Norwich, N.Y.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Shannon; his brothers, Garth A. Melville of Weehawken, N.J., and Matthew H. Melville of AuSable Forks, N.Y.; by his grandmother, Clara P. Baldwin of Rochester, N.Y.; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; and by his parents.
Ben was married to the former Sarah Manley, from whom he had been separated for several years.
Ben was born in Ithaca, N.Y., on March 30, 1962. He graduated from Lyndon Institute in Lyndon, Vt., and was employed as a carpenter.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, June 14 at the Keene Valley Congregational Church from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday June 15 at the church. Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery near Norwich, N.Y., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 17.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a fund to benefit Shannon. Contributions may be sent to: Shannon A. Melville Benefit Fund, Attention: Carol Manley, Champlain National Bank, PO Box 215, Keene NY 12942.
