I'm looking for the ancestors of Charles Surprenant who is said to have been a farmer from
New York (perhaps born in Canada) who married a Celina Menard or Miner (who was born in Canada).
They finally settled in Massachusetts. Charles Surprenant was born in approx. 1856 an died in 1933.
He and his wife Celina (born approx. 1862, died 1933) and children: Albert, Francis,
George, Elizabeth and Eva lived in Worcester MA and Sturbridge MA.. Charles' wife
Celina was the daughter of a full-blooded Native American lady, named Elizabeth, said to be a Sioux
from Sault Ste Mariee. Celina's father is said to have been Moses Miner (or
Menard?). Celina had a brother named Henry Miner, and may have had other siblings raised in
other families. (The name Alberti may come into play as a family who raised one of the children.) Does any of this ring a bell for any of you?
