A meeting of a special committee of the Mercer Heirs' association was held here this evening. This association is made up of descendants of Gideon Mercer, who came to this country from England in the sixteeth century, and the property they are trying to secure is valued at $200,000,000, and consists of a portion of New York city, facing on Broadway, lad in New Jersey and Scotland. The committee is composed of J. V. Snyder, Harvey, Ill.; L. M. Overton, Brazil, Ind.; J. D. Haddox, Winchester, Va., and H. Mercer, Marion, Ind.
The late P. P. Mast, himself a millionaire, was one of the heirs.
