Betty Merriwether was born October 12, 1925 and passed away June 6, 2009 in California. She is survived by son, Steven Scott Merriwether of Torrance CA, his wife Stephanie, brothers Don Jones of Lufkin, TX and Gene Jones of Kennard, TX, grandchildren Stephen and Samantha Merriwether, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty's death was preceded by her husband James C. Merriwether, and son, Larry Merriwether. She was employed as a credit union manager. She was a member of Central Christian Church before moving to California seven years ago. She died from complication of Alzheimer's.
Graveside Services 11:00 Saturday at Forest Park West Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. Rev. Jim Ainsworth officiating. Visitation Friday 5:00 to 7:00 PM. at the funeral home. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel 687-1256
