I am research the family of Major Lawrence Lewis and his families connections to Pittsburgh and Carlisle. I am related to Photographer Mathew Brady who I believe was related to Abraham Lincoln and Edwin M Stanton.

Edwin M Stanton was married to Ellen Hutchison a direct descendent of Meriwether Lewis. Then Edwin M Stanton's aide was General Henry Halleck. There are very good records that Henry Halleck was married to Elizabeth Hamilton the granddaughter of Alexander Hamilton.

Of course Meriwether Lewis, who lived in Pittsburgh for 8 years, was Alexander Hamilton's aide during the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794. The most common name between these families and the family at Fords Theater in Washington DC is Macnamarra.
