born abt. 1838 & he was married to Margaretha Barbara Barth
one of their children is Harrison (Harry) John Merkel born 1861
& he marred Lydia C. Suter & their children are - George, Grace, Madlyn, Susanna, and Mary (Maimie) Merkel.I think they came from Werbenz,Germany?
