I have Merriweather ancestors from Tiptonville, Tennessee. I hear that the family was split up due to being sold and some became Milners while others remained or became Merriweathers. I don't know know anything about the Milners and not very much about the Merriweathers like who owned them or anything. One of my ancestors names was Pompey Merriweather and he was born in 1895 in Tiptonville. Any info on who the slave owner was or on this family would be a great help as I am at a wall.
