Many Mervins live in Tahiti and its islands to-day. Apparently they can all be traced back to Henry Brooks Mervin, who married Emma Lucinda Foster, born 1834 in Tahiti. But where and when was Henry born? A greatgrandchild has told me, that he was born in Boston about 1838, but that is not supported by other sources. Some claim, that he was born in Tahiti, another that he was born in California.

Does anybody have information about Henry Brooks Mervin? Any help will be much appreciated.
