Blooming Grove, N.Y. — Elizabeth Merwin, 90, of Blooming Grove, N.Y., died Dec. 18, 2002, at the Orange County Residential Care Facility.
She was born in West Chazy, N.Y., on Oct. 20, 1912, the daughter of Melvin and Harriet (Bushey) Recor.
She was a retired cook and a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her two daughters, Constance Chapple of Orange City, Fla., and Sheila Daston of Blooming Grove, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Merwin was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Macey and her second husband, Mason Merwin; one brother, Oscar Record; and one sister, Catherine Bushey.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, N.Y. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Washingtonville. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mid-Hudson Chapter, Freedom Executive Park, 22 Freedom Plains Rd., Suite 102, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603-2647.
