i think i'm related to you! my grandfather, paul collins senior, his grandmother's maiden name was meserve! my father's and my middle name is meserve to keep the meserve name going! my grandfather tells me all about our history and how eben served in the crimean war and how he is a big part of the history of lowell, ma. how are you related to eben meserve?

I have been doing a little research on this Meserve family.

In the 1850 census George Meserve is living with the John Holden family.
Source Citation: Year: 1850; Census Place: Casco, Cumberland, Maine; Roll:
M432_249; Page: 133; Image: 255.

Eliza Ann Meserve is living with the Aaron B.
Holden family in 1850.
Source Citation: Year: 1850; Census Place: Casco, Cumberland, Maine; Roll:

My best guess is the the mother to Eliza Ann is a Holden possibly a daughter of the above John Holden and sister to Aaron B. Holden. At least this should give you something to search for but I would look at the Holden family.

DRESDEN -- Vernon E. Meserve, 88, of Gardiner Road died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center, Augusta.

He was born in Dresden on May 1, 1917, the son of Stanley and Vesta Pushard Meserve. Vernon attended Bridge Academy in Dresden and worked for the International Association of Bridge, Structure, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers local union No. 549 Wheeling, W.Va. He served during World War II in the Merchant Marines. He married Beatrice R. Witham Meserve. She died Jan. 25, 2003.

Veron enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, reading and crossword puzzles. He was a member of the Masons in Dresden.

He was predeceased by a son, Hildreth I. Meserve, who died in 1946.

He is survived by two sons, Kermit Trussell of Pittston and Stanley Meserve of North Carolina; four daughters, Norma "Tootie" Blodgett of Pittston, Sally Tribbet of Richmond, Janice Tisher of Hannibal, Ohio and Lorraine Price of McMechan, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visiting hour will be held noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Amesbury, White & Harmon Funeral Home, 39 Washington Ave., Gardiner, where a 1 p.m. funeral service will be held. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Dresden.

I am missing some pages in this book I will check with my mothr-in-law and see if the original has the pages, I made a copy from her original, because she wanted it back I think the copier may have missed a few pages, but I will check and write back soon,,

Wiliam Meserve, Marblehead MA

He was born abt 1750 - 1775 in FRANCE
Had several children. Some of his children if not all of them were born in FRANCE.
Looking for Phillip born 1797.
Phillip was a Mariner and he was living in Charlotte, South Caroline where he died in 1829. His tombstone marker in the Hugenot Church Cemetary reads that he was a native of France. I wonder if William was also a Mariner? Any help on finding him will be appreciated.

I have a Clarence Edgar Ridlon married to a Georgia Anna MESERVE. Her parents were WILLIAM APPLETON MESERVE (and Nancy B. Stone).
Could this be the same William?
Clarence and Georgia's daughter Maude was born in Standish Maine.

My Father was George Orville Meserve and my Grandfather was George Whitter Meserve. My Father was born in Hope Valley, R.I. in 1904. I'm not sure if my grandfather was born there or not but I think in that area. My grandmother was Bessie Connley Meserve and was from the same area. There was a relation to the Haley's on her side. They moved to California in the 1920's sometime. Any info. that anyone might have would be appreciated.

Eliza married John Woodbury EDWARDS.

I recently ran across and old graveyard in Limerick, Maine where several Meserves are buried, I am trying to link them to my Meserve ancestors.

I have just begun researching this side of my family and unfortunately most (to my knowledge) in direct relation to my g-grandfather Frank Meserve Haley have passed on. I am curious to know if Eve Meserve on your tree could have been his mother. He was given her maided name as his middle at birth. I know they resided their entire married life in Limerick, Maine - which is also where they raised their three children - two of whom have passed on. My grandmother was Harriet (Meserve) Lepene
Her father was Joseph Maserve, His father was Eben Maserve. I know most about Eben. born Aug12. 1833 died April 26 1923. Born in Dover N.H. Married Martha J Shepard. Had(or has) a grandson Everet Maddock.(possibly spelt Maddox)aand a son George Meserve.
Was in the Crimean war in England. Also the battle of bull run, Massachusetts fifth volenteers.In 1864 he enlisted again in Lowell Mass and was with the New York Calvery
Any help on any Meserve that might be related would be appreciated. I think Ebens mothers name might be Lucretiawhos daughter is mrs L. Josephine Dickson of Lowell ma.

I have got a book from my mother in law that has about 200 pages of Meserve information, it is all in alphabetical order it ends with the s, like a susan meserve. Anyone needing me to look up something feel free to email me or put on the board, I am looking for informatin that is missing, kinda funny that the pages I need are gone, like a Clement Meserve which in someway is related to the name Chase in which I was researching.
