      <description>In the on-line ship's list index for the "SS City of Richmond", leaving Liverpool destination New York 1879 is listed the following passengers:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;525  Jane Messa          27    F    Wife       England&lt;br&gt;526  Mary Jane Messa   6    F    Child       England&lt;br&gt;527  Richard H Messa    5    M    Child       England&lt;br&gt;528  Jane Manley         53    F    Wife       England&lt;br&gt;529  Joseph Manley       3    M    Child       England&lt;br&gt;529  W.J. Manley          1    M    Child       England&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Jane (Manley) Messa is reputed to have left her husband William Messa sometime after joining him in Colorado.  She later married Stephen Johns in 1889, Boulder County, Colorado.  Jane is buried in Tonapah, Nevada.  Her obituary listed 2 additional sons surviving her: Richard and William Messa.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In the 1910 Aspen, Colorado census records is listed Richard Messa aged 36 (subtraction yields birthyear 1874) born England, emigrated 1880 (age 6).  During the 1910 census, Richard is listed as a mill laborer and was married to Ada (age 28, born Colorado, father b. Germany &amp;amp; mother b. Ohio) and at that time Richard and Ada had 3 children:  Edith age 7, Velma age 6, and Willa age 9 months.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;An R.H. Messa is listed as serving on a jury in Leadville, Colorado (Eagle County) on Aug 01, 1913.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Would welcome any additional information on the Messas.</description>
