I do not have any direct info on Charles, but I have some records that show:<br>My great grandfather Fred Hert married Louisa Wilhelmia Messerly, whose father was Louis Francois Messerly who married Elizabeth Eberhard. Louis's parents were Samuel Messerly (Born 1793) and his wife was Susan Marguerite Gigas. Could this be the same person you refer to?

Charles MESSERLI/MESSERLY

Charles was born in 1835 in Clay Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio to Samuel MESSERLI. Charles died on March 10, 1914 in Ft Dodge, IA. His wife was Elizabeth SENN. Family says his mother's name was Susanna GYGAX, his death certificate says his mothers maiden name was YOST HANZEY. I do not know if Yost is her first name or if it should be hyphenated "YOST-HANZEY." The 1850 US Census says his mothers first name is Elizabeth. Does anyone know further information?

Messerly reference to cemetary

Could you please tell me where the cemetary is located that was mentioned in the letter you found? I am searching for a reason my father's middle name was Messerly. He didn't like it, or his mother much, and wonder if there's a connection. Am having trouble locating her birth place. Thank you

Thank you for the offer of the cards. At this juncture I'm still not sure how the name Messerly came to be used as dad's middle name. His mother is referenced at both Irma Juanitta Wilkinson and as a Patsy Ann Wilcoxson. Ohio isn't mentioned as a state where he or his parent's ever lived. Thank you for your kind offer tho.
