I'm looking for my ancestor, William M. Thompson born ca 1800 who I think may be a son of James Mims Thompson and Nancy Jackson who came to Christian Co., KY from Mecklenburg,VA.
William left KY in 1830 and went to Putnam Co., IN where he married Susannah Gough Fall, widow of Jesse Fall. They also lived in Preble, Clermont and Butler counties, OH before settling in Hamilton Co., IN. I have a land map of Jackson Township where they lived which shows neighbors named Jones, Wilson and Jackson, names that are connected to James Mims Thompson.
James Mims Thompson was the son of John Thompson and Sarah Mims. John was the son of John Thompson and Winifred Jeffries. The Jeffries married Wilsons.
William was old enough to have married before 1830. I'm wondering if he did marry and either divorced or she may have died.
If anyone can help me with this, I will really appreciate it. If anyone knows of another family that he belonged to, please let me know. He might have been William Mills Thompson or the son of William Thompson and Frances Quarles or???????
Thanks in advance,
Kathleen Rogalla
