Anyone of these two lines please contact me if you have and can provide information.These are my great great great great grandfathers.I have the Lisenbee-Shelton lines back as far as can be taken.But the Metcalf line is hard to trace as they intermarried into the Cherokee Nation.Absaloms great grandchildren were on the 1905 Gunion-Miller application files.Gabe's family also intermarried into the nation.Some one out there HELP!All tried to hide the Cherokee connections due to the ill treatment we got due to being mixed blood.But times have changed.Most do not realise that an American Indian was declared a citizen only in 1926 but this was signed into law only in 1953 by Dwight Eisenhour,untill then we were the property of the US of A under the law.It is inportant that we get all the information of this family together if we can.If no more than for the historical data.Face it all you Metcalf decendants,WE BUILT THIS COUNTRY!
