I'm looking for information on the Meuli family of Buffalo County, Wisconsin, in the 1850s-1860s.
I have a copy of a marriage record from 1 Sep 1856 in Sauk City, Wisconsin. The bride is Magdalena Buol, daughter of Hans Buol and Ursula Wolf. She was from Sauk County at the time, though she was born in Switzerland, and her father and siblings would relocate to western Wisconsin by 1860-1870, including the counties of La Crosse, Buffalo, and Trempealeau.
Magdalena's husband's last name is Meuli (spelled Meuly), born in Nufenen, son of Michael and Ursula. His residence appears to read "Elenor, Buffalo County," but it must be Alma. His first name is difficult to read. The first letter almost certainly is H, but the rest of the name might very well read as though it said Nicolaus.
Magdalena seems to have died before 1862 and may very well have died before 1860. There is a Nicolaus Meuli in Buffalo County who seems to have married a woman named Mary by 1859, but I'm not sure if it is the man who married Magdalena Buol.
If anyone has any further information I would be very appreciative. One thing that would be very helpful is a list of the children of Michael and Ursula Meuli.
